In 1999, the EMSC NRC created the Family Advisory Network (FAN) to facilitate the inclusion of family representatives in state EMSC programs. Click here to find more information about FAN and how you can get involved.

Family Advisory Network Directory

Welcome to the Family Advisory Network (FAN) Directory! Use the directory to find out more information about each family representative, including: the EMSC FAN representative's contact information, past and present EMSC projects, partnering organization(s), topics/activities of interest, and a brief background.

Pediatric Jump Kit Bag Initiative

The Oconomowoc Junior Woman's Club and the Wisconsin EMSC program developed the Pediatric Jump Kit Bag Initiative in 2002. Pediatric Jump Kits are specialized bags that put critical pediatric emergency supplies in one place to help EMS respond to pediatric calls with organized, easily accessible, and properly-sized equipment.

Resources for Families and Children

The EMSC NRC has produced a variety of resources for families and children on such topics as preventing and responding to childhood emergencies, selecting a health care plan, and developing emergency care plans for children with special health care needs.

Each year, the federal EMSC Program partners with the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Emergency Nurses Association to celebrate  EMS for Children Day or EMSC Day. This year, National EMSC Day will be held on May 18, 2016, the Wednesday of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, May 15-21.
