The EMSC NRC and the federal EMSC Program are committed to providing State Partnership grantees with training and consultation on an ongoing basis to enhance their skills and capacity. Grantees receive training and consultation specific to managing their grant, achieving the EMSC performance measures, and identifying resources and partners to help implement grant activities. Most of the training and consultation is accomplished through conference calls and webinars, an annual meeting, the eNewsletters EMSC QuickNews and Health Policy Update, and through the development and dissemination of guides, podcasts, online training, and other resources.


Grants Management. In addition to successfully implementing and evaluating the approved grant objectives, project managers/directors are also responsible for completing a number of "grants management" requirements, such as complying with financial reporting requirements that are clearly defined in the EMSC program guidance. Performance Measures. To measure the effectiveness of federal grant programs, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requires grantees to report on specific performance measures (PM) related to their grant funded activities. The measures are part of the Government Performance Results Act (GPRA). Read More....


Resource Identification and Development. The EMSC NRC works individually with State Partnership grantees to identify resources and partners that will assist them in achieving their grant objectives. In addition, the EMSC NRC develops its own resources to help grantees implement grant activities and achieve the performance measures. Training and Communications. Each year, State Partnership grantees are provided with several training opportunities to enhance their skills and capacity and to learn about federal and state EMSC activities and events. For example, the Program hosts a Town Hall Conference Call and a New Program Manager Introductory Webinar each quarter, as well as three to four issue focused webinars and an Annual EMSC Program Meeting.
